About me
Hi. My name is Julie Hartley and I am currently the Senior Biology Technician within the boys’ division at Bolton School. I have been there 15 years, the last 6 years as Senior. Prior to that I worked within Quality Assurance for proficiency testing within microbiology.
I co-presented a session on drosophila several years ago at a Technician’s Conference held at my school and I’m looking forward to the session on Friday.
Although, I have limited presentation experience, i have been fortunate to deliver sessions at teach-meets on slide preparation and eye dissections. I’ve also delivered sessions on Measurement Uncertainty within Microbiology to a group of microbiologists employed by the Malaysian Government.
In a previous life, I taught functional skills to adults, mainly maths but also some English and IT. This led me to deliver a fun session to some Year 10s from various local schools about the Maths found within the Natural World.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all on Friday.
