About me
Dr. Phil Smith is trained as a plant-science researcher who discovered the wonderful world of science education during his PhD at the John Innes Centre in Norwich.
After a successful, long-term partnership with a primary school teacher (when volunteering for the Teacher Scientist Network) Phil was successful in being appointed coordinator of the organisation and has taken the charity to new heights in the 12 years he has run the programme.
He was awarded an MBE for services to science education in the Queen's Birthday honours in 2008 recognising both his own contributions to science communication and education and the success of TSN in pioneering effective links between the science and education communities.
