The Glass Sellers’ Charity is delighted to continue its association with the ASE, helping to develop the understanding and usage of the world’s most amazing and diverse product - glass. Our London Livery Company received its Royal Charter in 1664 from Charles II, since then has promoted and maintained standards within our trade. The Charity reaches out to schools across all sectors of education to inspire young people to consider a career in the many industries that the material is used.
The Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers of London received its Charter from King Charles II in 1664. The Glass Sellers’ Company is a Livery Company similar to the guilds of medieval times. The original purpose of the Livery was to regulate trade within London in articles made of glass, to ensure quality and fair trade. The Glass Sellers’ Company ranks 71st in precedence amongst the City’s Livery Companies. Representatives of almost all the varied interests of the modern glass industry are members of the Livery. The company actively promotes the use of glass in arts, crafts, science and technology and supports education and training in all these areas. Today, more than ever, building and maintaining professional and personal relationships is central to who we are.
