ASE Summer 2025 Technicians Conference

Hi.  My name is Julie Hartley and I am currently the Senior Biology Technician within the boys’ division at Bolton School.  I have been there 15 years, the last 6 years as Senior.  Prior to that I worked within Quality Assurance for proficiency testing within microbiology.

I co-presented a session on drosophila several years ago at a Technician’s Conference held at my school and I’m looking forward to the session on Friday.

I have been a school science technician for 14 years. Prior to this I was a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology working for the NHS.
I currently work across biology, chemistry & physics in KS3 & KS4.
I'm a member of the ASE Technician's committee & collate the Prep Room pages for EIS

I have been a technician since 1981 having worked in industry, research & development, higher education and schools both state and independent. My interests include being part of a choir and researching genealogy and local history.
